Overview

GEX Visualization is the platform's most comprehensive gamma exposure analysis tool. It renders call, put, and net gamma exposure across all listed strikes for any US equity with options — with 7 chart types, 21 premium themes, embeddable URLs, dynamic unit scaling, and deep zoom integration.

Where Gammatrix provides the standard GEX bar chart, GEX Visualization adds multi-chart rendering, URL-based embedding for sharing, and granular view controls that let you isolate exactly the gamma signal you need.

Key Features

7 chart types: Bar, Line, Area, Scatter, Step, Bubble, and Heatmap — each with a distinct icon in the toolbar. Switch instantly to match your analysis preference.
21 gradient themes: Full premium theme library including seasonal and weather-inspired themes. Applied via the ThemePicker modal with live preview.
Expiration filter: View all expirations combined, or isolate a single expiry date. Useful for separating near-term gamma pinning from longer-dated structural positioning.
ATM range filter: Set a strike percentage window around spot (e.g. ±2%, ±5%, ±10%) to zoom into the most actionable zone.
Dynamic unit scaling: GEX values automatically format as K (thousands), M (millions), or B (billions) based on magnitude, keeping the chart readable across any ticker.
Spot price overlay: Custom Chart.js plugin draws a glowing vertical line at the current underlying price with a labeled marker.
Interactive zoom: Chart.js zoom plugin enables pinch, scroll, and drag-to-zoom. Reset with double-click.
Share & embed: Download chart as PNG or copy an embeddable URL with query parameters (?theme=, ?overlay=, ?expiration=, ?embed=1). Share analysis with your team or embed in dashboards.
View options: Toggle Show Net (composite line overlay), Net Only (strip call/put bars), and custom color overrides from the View Options dropdown.
Watchlist integration: Add the current ticker to your watchlist directly from the window toolbar.
Guide Panel: In-window educational overlay covering GEX chart reading, strike analysis, key levels, and chart controls.

How to Read the Chart

Element	Meaning
Positive GEX (calls)	Green bars showing call-side gamma exposure per strike. Higher bars = more dealer hedging activity at that strike.
Negative GEX (puts)	Red bars showing put-side exposure. Heavy put-gamma strikes act as volatility accelerators when breached.
Net GEX line	Blue composite line (call + put). The overall dealer gamma balance. Crosses from positive to negative at the gamma flip zone.
Spot price marker	Glowing vertical line at the current price. Compare spot's position relative to the highest gamma strikes.
Max positive GEX	The strike with the largest positive gamma concentration — the strongest price magnet (gamma wall).
Max negative GEX	The strike with the largest negative gamma — the strongest volatility amplifier if reached.

Use Cases

Institutional reporting: Use the embed URL feature to share live GEX charts in internal dashboards or research portals with customized themes and views.
Multi-expiry analysis: Filter by expiration to compare near-dated (OPEX week) gamma vs. longer-dated structural gamma. Near-dated GEX has higher convexity impact.
Cross-ticker comparison: Open multiple GEX Visualization windows side-by-side (e.g., SPY + QQQ + IWM) to compare market-wide dealer positioning.
Heatmap mode for density: Switch to Heatmap chart type to see GEX concentration as color intensity, useful for quickly identifying the densest positioning clusters.

How to Launch

Open the Window Launcher — click the green + button or press L.

Search for GEX Visualization or browse Gamma & Exposure.

Click to launch. Enter a ticker symbol.

Data loads from the Data Abstraction Layer. Use the toolbar to switch chart types, themes, and filters. Use the share button to export or embed.

Data is sourced through Ohey's Redis-backed HTTP Data Abstraction Layer, aggregating gamma, delta, and OI across all listed expirations. GEX Visualization is available on the Pro tier ($79/month). View pricing →
