Star Field
Last updated 2026-09-24
In a layout it is listed as Star Field, pane type sig-galaxy. Every stock the model ranked tonight is drawn as one star in a room with three axes. It draws the same rows Market Scan lists, as stars an options trader can turn and walk around. It shows model output beside the option market's IV rank. On the free plan the model half is one trading day behind.
At a glance
- Across. The rank at 45 trading days. Bearish stocks sit to the left, bullish to the right. The shaded ends of the floor are the signal zones.
- Up. IV rank, from 0 on the floor to 100 at the top. It says whether the stock's options are priced rich or cheap against its own year.
- Depth. The model's expected move over the next 20 trading days. The bigger the move, the nearer the star sits.
- The shelf. Stocks with no options record sit on a shelf below the floor.
- Colour. The measured edge over any stock: green on the bullish side, red on the bearish side. Grey means no edge.
- Size. How many option contracts traded tonight.
- Rings. A double ring and a label mark a High confidence signal. A single ring marks a Medium one.
- The three views. Angle shows all three axes. Rank × IV rank looks face on. Rank × move looks down from above.
- Key difference. The Market Scan's map is the flat version of this room. The Star Field adds the size of the expected move as depth.

Moving around
- Drag to turn the room. Scroll to move closer or further.
- The view buttons glide the camera to Angle, Rank × IV rank or Rank × move. With reduced motion set, the camera jumps instead.
- Click a star to switch the whole desk to that stock.
Reading it as an options trader
- Top right, near. Bullish, options rich, a big expected move. Trade Cards tends to state credit structures on rich options.
- Bottom right. Bullish with cheap options, where debit structures cost less.
- Top left and bottom left. The same two readings on the bearish side.
- The back of the room. A small expected move: little for an option to work with, whatever the side. These describe a place in the room. The structure itself, with its limit and its risk, is on Trade Cards. Key difference. Where a star sits is three figures at once. Its colour and its ring are the model's measured edge and its signal.
Frequently asked questions
Why is the scene dark in every appearance? The room sits against a night sky, so its labels and key use the night colours in every appearance. The rest of the desk keeps the appearance chosen in Settings. Why do most stars look grey? Most stocks sit in the middle of the ranking, where the measured record shows no edge over any stock. Where did the sector clusters go? Sector Split shows each sector's signals and option pricing side by side, which the clusters only hinted at.
