Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about the Ohey platform

Getting Started
What is Ohey?
Ohey is an options analytics platform that visualizes gamma exposure, IV surfaces, dealer hedging pressure, open interest clustering, and other derived metrics from raw options chain data. It provides 24 analytical windows designed to help you understand how options positioning shapes price behavior.
Do I need a credit card to sign up?
No. The Free Tier is free and requires no credit card. You get immediate access to 5 core windows including the flagship Gammatrix gamma exposure chart.
What do I need to run the platform?
A modern web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge). Ohey is a web application — there's nothing to install. For the best experience, use a desktop or laptop with a screen width of 1280px or wider.
How do I launch a window?
Click the + button in the taskbar at the bottom of the screen, then select a window from the launcher. Enter a ticker symbol (e.g., SPY, AAPL, QQQ) and the window will load data. See the Quickstart Guide for a complete walkthrough.
Pricing & Tiers
What's included in the Free Tier?
The Free Tier gives you access to 5 core windows: Gammatrix (with WebSocket streaming), Delta-Weighted OI, Flashback DWOI, Option Chains, and Watchlist. You can open up to 5 concurrent windows. All HTTP data features work — 7 chart types, 21 themes, zoom, and guide panels.
What does the Advanced tier add?
Advanced ($29/month) adds 7 analytics windows to the Basic set: IV Skew, Theta Decay, Vega Concentration, Dealer Hedging Pressure, Gamma Flip Zone, Gamma Exposure (GEX), and OI Clustering Heatmap — giving you 12 windows total. Concurrent window limit is 10. Advanced windows use HTTP data fetching; WebSocket streaming is available in Pro.
What does the Pro tier add?
Pro ($79/month) unlocks all 24+ windows, increases your concurrent window limit to 25, enables WebSocket streaming on 13 windows via MessagePack encoding, gives access to the PulseDeck strategy engine, and unlocks the Alert Manager with Discord webhook integration and a 50-alert quota. WebSocket data updates during U.S. equity market hours (9:30 AM–4:00 PM ET) on each server computation cycle. Outside market hours, the platform displays closing snapshots.
Can I try Pro features before subscribing?
The Free Tier is designed to give you meaningful exposure to the platform's core analytical capabilities. Gammatrix alone includes 7 chart types, 21 themes, session recording, and guide panels. To access Pro-only windows, you need an active Pro subscription.
How do I upgrade?
Go to Settings → Subscription inside the app, or visit oheyinc.com/pricing. Your account will be upgraded immediately and all 24+ windows become available.
Data & Coverage
What tickers are supported?
The platform supports US equities and ETFs that have listed options. Enter any optionable ticker symbol. The most commonly used tickers include SPY, QQQ, AAPL, TSLA, NVDA, AMZN, and major index ETFs.
How often is the data updated?
HTTP windows fetch data from the backend's Redis cache on request — you'll see the latest computed data each time you load or refresh a window. WebSocket windows (Pro) receive streaming updates pushed by the server on each computation cycle, so the data updates automatically without manual refresh.
Where does the data come from?
Raw options chain data (strikes, expirations, Greeks, IV, OI, volume) is sourced from Polygon.io, a market data provider that aggregates exchange data from OPRA (Options Price Reporting Authority). All derived metrics — gamma exposure (GEX), dealer hedging pressure, IV surfaces, skew analytics — are computed by Ohey's proprietary backend engine from these raw chains. Data updates during U.S. equity market hours (9:30 AM–4:00 PM ET). Outside market hours, the platform displays the most recent closing snapshot.
Can I see historical data?
The Flashback DWOI window provides a date picker for viewing historical delta-weighted open interest snapshots. The Gammatrix window also supports session recording for replay. Most other windows display the current market snapshot.
Windows & Features
What are the 7 chart types?
Bar, Line, Area, Scatter, Step, Bubble, and Heat Map. These are available across HTTP-based windows. Each chart type reveals different patterns in the same underlying data. For example, scatter plots show strike clustering while heat maps reveal concentration density.
What are themes?
Themes control the color palette of your charts. The platform includes 21 premium themes: Neon Pulse, Quantum Gold, Cyber Emerald, Arctic Aurora, Sunset Gradient, Ocean Depths, Crystalline, Circuit, and more. They're purely aesthetic and don't change the data. Select a theme from the dropdown at the top of any HTTP window.
What is the guide panel?
Click the Guide button inside any window to open an overlay that explains what the window's data represents, how to interpret the chart, and common trading applications. Guide panels are built into every window — they're not separate documentation, they're contextual education right where you need it.
What is PulseDeck?
PulseDeck is a Pro-only dashboard that aggregates 10 analytical modules into one view. Click any module to expand its detail panel. At the top, a strategy engine analyzes the data across modules and presents strategy considerations (e.g., "Bull Call Spread", "Iron Condor") with a confidence score and supporting rationale — all for your independent evaluation. See methodology →
Can I share or embed charts?
The Gamma Exposure (GEX) window supports sharing via PNG export and embed URLs with query parameters (?theme=, ?overlay=, ?expiration=, ?embed=1). Other windows support chart export through the Chart.js context menu where available.
How many windows can I open at once?
Free Tier: up to 5 concurrent windows. Pro tier: up to 25. Windows can be arranged, resized, and your layout is saved for next login.
Alerts & Integrations
How do alerts work?
The Alert Manager (Pro) lets you create alerts for 4 event types: IV Surface changes, Gamma Flip crossings, Price Alerts, and Volume Spikes. When conditions are met, the alert fires. You can test alerts manually before relying on them.
Can I send alerts to Discord?
Yes. In the Alert Manager's Webhooks tab, paste your Discord webhook URL and save. Alert notifications will be sent to your Discord channel. This is useful for teams and prop desks that centralize signals.
What are the alert limits?
Free Tier: 2 alerts. Pro: 50 alerts. Each alert can be configured independently with its own event type, ticker, and conditions.
Technical
What happens if the WebSocket disconnects?
The client automatically reconnects using exponential backoff (starts at 3 seconds, grows by 1.5× each attempt, max 60 seconds, up to 10 retries). A connection status indicator in the window header shows whether you're connected, reconnecting, or disconnected. See Data Infrastructure for details.
What charting library does Ohey use?
The platform uses six charting libraries: Chart.js for 2D visualizations (bar, line, scatter, area, step, bubble), D3.js for custom data-driven visualizations, Three.js for the 3D IV Surface window, Plotly.js for interactive scientific charts, ApexCharts for dashboard panels, and Recharts for React-native responsive charts. All rendering is client-side — no server-side image generation.
Is my data secure?
All connections use HTTPS/WSS encryption. Authentication is JWT-based with server-side validation on every request. Tier enforcement happens at the API level — even if a window component renders, it won't receive data the account isn't authorized for.
Are there keyboard shortcuts?
Press L to open the Window Launcher. Windows can be maximized, minimized, and closed using the standard title bar controls. The workspace supports standard drag-and-drop for positioning windows.
Does Ohey work on mobile?
The platform is designed for desktop use. While the site is accessible on mobile browsers, the multi-window workspace experience requires a screen width of at least 1280px for optimal use. A single window can be viewed on smaller screens, but multi-window layouts are impractical below that width.
Does Ohey support 0DTE analysis?
Yes. The platform processes all listed expirations including same-day (0DTE) contracts. PulseDeck provides ML-powered strategy considerations across multiple horizons including 0DTE, presented for your independent evaluation. The IV Surface window visualizes 0DTE as the 1-day horizon in its multi-expiration grid.

Risk notice: 0DTE (same-day expiration) options carry extreme risk — the entire premium can expire worthless within a single trading session due to accelerated time decay. 0DTE strategies are appropriate only for experienced traders with a thorough understanding of intraday options dynamics, rapid theta decay, and the risk of total premium loss. This is not suitable for all investors.
Trust & Credibility
Is Ohey a real, registered company?
Yes. Ohey Inc. is an SEC-registered investment adviser (CRD# 340093). We are incorporated in the United States and operate under full regulatory compliance. You can verify our registration on the SEC's IAPD database by searching our CRD number.
Who uses Ohey?
Ohey serves individual options traders, prop trading desks, and institutional investors. Our users range from retail traders analyzing gamma exposure on SPY to institutional teams running multi-ticker flow analysis across their portfolios. The platform is used by traders focused on 0DTE strategies, gamma scalping, volatility surface analysis, and dealer positioning.
How is Ohey different from Bloomberg or Thinkorswim?
Bloomberg Terminal costs $24,000+/year and requires dedicated hardware. Thinkorswim provides basic options chains but lacks gamma exposure analytics, dealer hedging models, and IV surface visualization. Ohey delivers options flow analytics at $79/month with 24+ specialized windows, 12 WebSocket streams, 6 charting libraries, and ML-powered strategy considerations — all accessible from any web browser. See our full comparison.
What infrastructure backs the platform?
Ohey runs on dedicated servers with Redis caching, WebSocket streaming via MessagePack binary encoding, and a Node.js/React frontend optimized for chart rendering. The backend computation pipeline processes full options chains (all strikes × all expirations) and delivers derived analytics to WebSocket clients on each computation cycle and to HTTP clients on demand. See Data Infrastructure for the full architecture.
Do you offer a refund?
Yes. We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee on Pro subscriptions. If the platform doesn't meet your expectations, contact support within 14 days of your first Pro payment for a full refund — no questions asked.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Pro subscriptions are month-to-month with no contracts, no lock-in, and no cancellation fees. Cancel from Settings → Subscription and your access continues through the end of the billing period. You can always return to the Free Tier.
