The phone app

There is a native iPhone app. It reads the same desk from the same server, in a shape a phone can carry. This page says what is on it and what is not.

At a glance

• One account. You sign in with the same email and the same password.
• One book. It reads the same server, so the names and the dates match the browser exactly.
• Four tabs and a search tab. Book, Scan, Options and Radar, with Search set apart at the right. More opens from the person button at the top.
• Most of the desk, not all of it. Three screens are on the website only, and they are named below.
• No alerts. The app sends no push notification of any kind.
• Key difference. The website lets you arrange screens on a stage. The phone gives you one screen at a time, behind tabs.

Signing in

The app signs in against the same account as the browser. There is nothing separate to create and nothing to link.

• Same email, same password. The sign in screen asks for the credentials you already use.
• Both at once. The app keeps its own sign in, so signing in on the phone leaves the browser signed in.
• Same plan. Your plan follows the account, not the device. The account size box on Book is different: it lives on each device separately and never leaves it.
• Same book. The phone shows the same published list, on the same schedule, as the website.

The tabs

The tab bar floats over the screen and shrinks while you scroll down. Scroll up, or tap it, to bring it back. More opens from the person button at the top right of every tab.

• Book. Trade Cards. Tonight's signals, one row each, with the option structure the desk would place. The model and its signal, quote and open dates sit behind the info button beside the title. Every order is placed by the reader, at their own broker.
• Scan. Market Scan as one long list. A row of chips across the top narrows it: everything, the book, the bearish side, the names you have starred, and the conditions read. Tap a name and a sheet opens over the list. It carries that name's rank, how many time frames agree, and the time frames drawn as a ladder.
• Options. Thirteen screens over the nightly option chain capture. Ten read one linked name: Options Snapshot, Priced Range, Volatility Weather, Volatility Smile, Volatility Surface, Volatility History, Gamma Map, Expiry Ladder, Strike Table and Changed Hands. Three read the whole covered board, one of them being Options Screener. The "Browse all names" row shows a small heat strip, the count and the date, and opens the whole board on its own screen. It offers a search box and five sliding orderings, each with its own small glyph. Above the list, a chart plots every name by IV percentile against priced move. Drag the strip below the chart to filter the list by IV percentile. A tapped name, or a name tapped on the chart, opens full screen. Swipe sideways or tap the arrows at the top to reach the next name in the same order. A search bar sits under One name. Type a ticker or part of a company name, such as "nvid" or "apple", and tap a match to link it. Recent names sit as chips under the search bar, each with a small colour dot for its IV percentile.
• Radar. Nine radar screens: Earnings Radar, Release Calendar, Company Events, Seasonality, Short Volume, Headlines, Market Mood, Breadth Board and Macro Tape. Each opens on its date line and its figures. How to read a screen sits behind the info button beside its title. Most screens offer Visual and List; Visual is the default, and the phone remembers your choice.
  • Macro Tape groups its series into prices, jobs, activity, and rates and money. Each tile shows the level, the change in green or red, the change on a year earlier, a line of the record and its percentile.
  • Market Mood puts each print on a track from its year low to its year high, with the reading before as a hollow ring.
  • Earnings Radar opens on a calendar of report days. Tap a day to list its reports. Each report shows its priced move as a grey band either side of the share price, with the last four first day moves as dots.
  • Release Calendar and Company Events use the same calendar grid. Tap a day for its releases or filings.
  • Seasonality draws each name's twelve months as a coloured strip, on the measure you pick: average, median or months up.
  • Breadth Board draws advancers against decliners day by day, both share lines on one chart, and a 52 week sector grid.
  • The Reported positions tab on Short Volume has a Visual too. Each name shows its short share count as a line, with days to cover and the change.
  • Green and red on these screens show a direction, up or down. They never say whether a reading is good or bad.
• Search. The magnifying glass at the right of the tab bar. Where you go to read rather than to trade. A search over names and guides, every guide in this library, and the Ask.
• More. Opens as a sheet from the person button at the top right of every tab. A shortcut back to Trade Cards sits at the top. Then a signals group: Signal galaxy (Star Field on the website), Sector Split, Signal History, Price Chart and Chart Wall. It also holds a shortcut back to the Scan tab, Market Conditions and Watchlist. Public Filings sits in its own group, with the same three tabs as the website: Congress, Insiders and Famous funds. Below that sits your plan and billing, when billing is configured. Then the publish archive and your own delivery records; your documents and Privacy and your data; and RingMaster in your AI with its usage meter. Sign in, security and contact sit last. There is no position sizing or order tickets on the phone. The "Your account" group that used to hold them is retired.
• Signal galaxy, by sector. Tap a cluster, its label, or a chip under the picture to open that sector. It shows the bullish and bearish split and the median rank against the whole scan. It also shows strength over time, when the sector data carries it, and every name, ranked. Tap a name to open its sheet.
• Chart Wall, as a grid. Small charts, two across by default, one, two or three by the control above. Tap a tile for the full chart. Touch and hold it to open the name's sheet or take it off the wall.

The Ask on the phone

The Ask sits on the Search tab, and a name's sheet can open it too.

• The same assistant. It answers from the same guides as the Ask on the website, under the same limits, and it refuses the same requests.
• It knows which tab you are on. The app tells it which screens that tab is drawing, so a question about what is in front of you lands on the right one.
• One tab it cannot read. Search draws no screen, so from there the Ask has nothing to look at. Ask your question in full there.
• What it will not do. It does not place orders and it does not manage anyone's money. The desk connects to no brokerage. It answers the same way for every reader, never one person's plan.

What the phone does not draw

Three screens are on the website only. Nothing on the phone replaces them as a separate screen.

• Read-out. Not a tab of its own. The desk's own view in words is drawn inline on the stock sheet instead, for the linked name. It carries the verdict, the levels, the chart and the fit.
• Chart Grid. Small preview charts for a whole list at once. On the phone, Chart Wall under More draws a grid of small charts on one shared toolbar. Its quick sets fill it from your watchlist, the Trade Cards names or the index and sector funds.
• Market Map. Every name as a tile, grouped by sector.

One control is on the website only.

• Copy for AI. One press turns a screen into a block for ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or another assistant.

Four more screens are on the phone without a screen of their own.

• Rank by Timeframe and Timeframe Agreement. Both sit on the name sheet in the Scan tab, as the ladder and the agreement count.
• Positioning Replay. A segment inside Gamma Map.
• Since Yesterday. The one name half is a segment inside Options Snapshot. The universe half is its own board screen.

Notifications, and there are none

The app sends no push notification. Nothing tells you that the evening list has been published, and nothing alerts you about a name, a price or a report date. You open the app and look. That is the whole of it.

With no connection

The app shows nothing from a cache. With no signal the Book screen says it cannot reach us and keeps retrying. A list it cannot check against the server is not put on your screen.

Zooming, and moving things about

• No pinch to zoom. No screen in the app zooms. Every one of them is drawn for a phone and scrolls.
• No arranging. The website lets you place screens side by side and tear one off. The phone has tabs and screens instead.

About this screen and your data

Every screen keeps its longer explanations behind the small i button in its title row.

What is stored about you is not scattered across those screens. It lives in one place, More, Privacy and your data.

How to get it

The app is not in the App Store yet. It is for iPhone only. Write to [email protected] and ask for the install link.

Frequently asked questions

Does the app show prices? No. The app sells nothing and shows no prices or offers. Every screen in it reads the same published desk.

Is it in the App Store? Not yet. Write to [email protected] and ask for the install link.

Which phones does it run on? iPhone only. The app is written for iPhone and for no other phone.

Will it tell me when the evening list is published? No. There are no push notifications on the phone at all. You open the app to see the list.

Do I need a separate account for the app? No. The same email and password sign you in on the phone and in the browser, and both can be signed in at once.

Can I zoom in on a screen? No. There is no pinch to zoom anywhere in the app.

Does it work with no signal? Not usefully. Nothing is served from a cache, so a screen with no connection says so instead of showing you an old figure.

Why does Trade Cards sometimes say it could not be read? The desk goes offline for about a minute while it is updated. The phone asks again three times, over about twenty seconds, before it says so. Tap Read again a minute later.

Is everything from the website on the phone? Almost. Three screens are on the website only: the standalone Read-out pane, Chart Grid and Market Map. Read-out's own content is still on the phone, inline on the stock sheet.

How do I move from one name to the next in Options on the phone? Tap the "Browse all names" row under the search bar, then tap a name, or a dot on the chart above the list. It opens full screen. Swipe sideways or tap the arrows at the top for the next name in the list's order. Back returns the list exactly where you left it. The recent names chips under the search bar switch between a few names in one tap.
